EARLY TIMES MINT JULEP PARTNERS WITH YELLOW CAB TO OFFER OVER
1,000 SAFE RIDES DURING KENTUCKY DERBY® WEEK
We are teaming up with Early Times Mint Julep, the Official
Drink of the Kentucky Derby to offer over 1,000 vouchers for safe
rides at select locations in Louisville during Kentucky Derby week
in an effort to encourage people to plan ahead to keep drunk
drivers off the roads.
In partnership with Early Times Mint Julep, we will be present
at nine locations from April 29 to May 1 with a specially-designed
Kentucky Derby themed taxi featuring Early Times Mint Julep
insignia. Patrons will sign the taxi as their personal pledge to
drink responsibly, and each person who pledges will receive a taxi
voucher valued at $15 which patrons can redeem toward their safe
ride home with Yellow Cab, courtesy of Early Times Mint Julep. In
celebration of Kentucky Derby 139, there will be 139 taxi vouchers
offered at three locations on each date:
- Monday April 29, 6-8pm - St. Matthews (Tin Roof, Drake's, 60
West)
- Tuesday April 30, 6-8pm - Highlands (O'Sheas, Molly Malone's,
Baxter's 942)
- Wednesday May 1, 9-11pm - Fourth Street Live! (Sports and
Social Club, Sully's, Marquee Bar)
Each voucher is valid for $15 and may be used with Yellow Cab as
well as sister companies Checker Cab and Cardinal Cab. All vouchers
are for use during Kentucky Derby week only (can be redeemed for
Oaks & Derby runs) and must be redeemed by midnight on Sunday,
May 5, 2013.
"The partnership with Early Times Mint Julep encourages our
community to enjoy their Kentucky Derby celebrations and get home
safely," said Rob Frederick, director of corporate responsibility

exciting week brings friends and family together, and there's no
better way to enrich the Kentucky Derby experience than with a safe

'Pink Ride' comes to Louisville: Yellow Cab of Louisville 'Goes
Pink' For Breast Cancer Awareness

(Louisville, Kentucky)-Take a stand against breast cancer simply
by sitting in a cab. Designated cabs operated by Yellow Cab
of Louisville will participate in the "TLPA Pink Ride to benefit
the American Cancer Society"
For the entire month of October, Yellow Cab of Louisville has
painted five of its cabs in a pink color, and will contribute $100
each week per designated "pink" cabs to the American Cancer Society
Making Strides Against Breast Cancer program to help raise
awareness and funds to fight breast cancer.
There is no additional cost to passengers, and drivers are not
allowed to accept donations. However, passengers can make a $10
donation directly to the American Cancer Society. The
passenger will simply text PINK to 41518, to have a donation of
$10.00 added to the passenger's next cell phone bill, or passengers
may also make secure, online donations with a credit card a special
web site created by the American Cancer Society at
www.cancer.org/pinkride.
The effort is part of the second annual international TLPA Pink
Ride to benefit the American Cancer Society Spearheaded by the
Taxicab, Limousine, & Paratransit Association (TLPA) a global
association of for-hire vehicle fleet owners representing more than
1,100 companies.
"Every time a passenger rides in our pink cabs, from October 1
thru October 31, they'll know they are riding in a vehicle that is
helping to raise funds and awareness in the fight against breast
cancer," Cab General Manager Jonathan Brown says.
"We all know someone that has been affected by breast cancer,"
Brown says. "I hope that people see these pink cabs and are spurred
on to do something on their own, whether that be doing their own
fundraiser, helping out a friend with breast cancer, or maybe even
just making sure they or a loved one get themselves screened."
